The number of pensioners taking anti-depressants has doubled in the past two decades, most notably those in care.
This recent article in The Telegraph states that the use of anti-depressants in England has more than doubled to 10.7%, despite the number of people suffering from depression, remaining the same.
It is clear from the article the challenge is a lack of options for those suffering from anxiety and depression symptoms. In addition, there is such a lack of resources in the mental health system, that often these are the only option.
